After many question marks, now an exclamation mark: Lady Gaga stops teasing and announces when her seventh studio album will be released. The new LP is scheduled to be released on March 7th via Interscope Records. There is now also a title for the work: “Mayhem”.
More foretaste in February
Before the record is released at the beginning of March, you can get an impression of Gaga’s current musical direction with the two tracks “Disease” and “Die With a Smile”. Another single will follow on February 2nd. The setting: The 2025 Grammy Awards. During the break in the award ceremony, the song (title still unknown) and its music video will be presented to the world.
What to expect over album length
The record’s press release states: “‘Mayhem’ is a triumphant return to Gaga’s pop roots, combining the eclectic energy with which she captivated her fans with a bold, fearless artistic vision. The album explores themes of chaos and transformation and celebrates the power of music to unite, provoke and heal.”
“‘Mayhem’ is not a nostalgic throwback, but rather reinvents their early sound with a kaleidoscopic approach that draws from their extensive musical library while adopting a fresh and fearless artistic perspective. Gaga describes the creative process as “putting together a broken mirror: even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something beautiful and whole in your own new way.”
A tracklist has not been shared yet.
