Lady Gaga and Doechii show off in the music video for their new song “Runway” lots of chutzpah and even more style.
The power duo have teamed up for the new track, which will be featured in the highly anticipated film The Devil Wears Prada 2. In the music video, directed by Parris Goebel, Lady Gaga and Doechii present a series of extravagant haute couture looks and fire off self-deprecating lyrics about gossip – and about declaring every dance floor a catwalk.
Although this is Gaga and Doechii’s first collaboration together, both have long expressed their admiration for one another. Doechii has called Lady Gaga a huge influence and a “legend”, calling herself her “biggest fan”. And last July, Lady Gaga told British Vogue she was just as enthusiastic about Doechii: the rapper “arrived from the start with a pen that immediately felt legendary.”

“I fell in love with her music, with her raw, deeply personal perspective,” Lady Gaga added. “The power in her words, her vulnerability, the way she rhymes – with this wild mix of boldness and emotional precision – it hit me to the core.”
Almost 20 years after the premiere of the first film, the original cast returns in the sequel to “The Devil Wears Prada”: Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci reprise their roles in the cult film. Streep plays Miranda Priestly, the ice-cold and uncompromising editor-in-chief of the fictional fashion magazine Runway, who has to deal with the decline of print journalism and shrinking editorial budgets. The film hits theaters on May 1st.
