A month after the 1-0 win at Barca, Leganes now had the same result against coach Diego Simeone’s team. Former Schalke defender Matija Nastasic scored the only goal of the game in the 48th minute, ending an outstanding run for the visitors from Madrid, who had previously won 15 competitive games in a row.
This means Real Madrid now has the opportunity to jump to the top of the table with a win on Sunday against UD Las Palmas.
Flick’s Barca are dropping points again
Barcelona, for its part, had the opportunity to reduce the gap to Atletico, who will face Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League on Tuesday (January 21, 2025), to three points – but only managed to reduce it to five points.
