LA authorities: evacuees must stay away for another week, too dangerous to return home

Los Angeles authorities told people evacuated from areas affected by wildfires on Thursday that they would not be able to return to their homes for at least another week. Emergency workers are still removing toxic waste from the burned neighborhoods and shutting off electricity and gas lines. According to the authorities, they still pose a danger.
