Water board tests alternatives to sandbags
Many tens of thousands of sandbags were dragged in last summer to stop the rising water in Limburg. A hell of a job, and you also need a lot of sand for it. Afterwards, several hundred soldiers had to clean up the sandbags again. That could possibly be a lot simpler. The Limburg water board tested four alternative flood defenses near Roermond on Wednesday, which can replace the sandbag.

Solution found for getting May-den
Youngsters, or unmarried men, sat in a few villages in the Heuvelland with their hands in their hair. Every year they take a maiden from the forest for the May festivities. Tradition. Skateboard star Candy Jacobs from Tegelen, they have known her for many years in the skate world. She is one of the best skateboarders in Europe, but the general public only saw her during the Olympic Games in Tokyo last summer. Candy got corona, was not allowed to participate and was the first Dutch sportswoman in Tokyo to be in seclusion for ten days. Rob Ruijgh trains riders for his own Team Tigerr
