Help from all quarters to find missing Gino
In the search for the missing Gino van der Straeten there is help from all sides. The police do not have enough manpower to search the various areas. At the moment, various teams and in various places are looking for the nine-year-old boy who has been missing from Kerkrade since Wednesday evening. The Veterans Search Team Foundation, which also helped in the search for Anne Faber, traveled to Limburg. The team is looking for two different locations in Kerkrade, with three separate groups. A total of 65 men and women join in the search.

Maastricht Aachen Airport remains open
The Limburg Parliament has decided definitively to keep Maastricht Aachen Airport open, but under strict conditions. The provincial government must come up with a detailed business case before 31 December 2022. The number of people seriously affected must be further reduced to a maximum of 5,600 on 1 January 2025. In addition, a generous environmental fund must be created to limit the nuisance to the environment, money intended for extra insulation or buying out homes near the airport.

Tom Dumoulin will stop cycling after this season, the 31-year-old from Maastricht announced on Friday. Dumoulin has had a disappointing participation in the Giro. He had to give up and felt that his body could no longer keep up. In 2017 he won the Giro d’Italia. That immediately became the pinnacle of his career.

Theater performance Over the Stream
They both grew up on the Maas. Now two young theater makers have created a performance about the river that shaped them and that can be both friendly and cruel. The performance ‘Over de Stroom’ will premiere on Saturday, not in a theater but in Blerick, on the Maas. This poses quite a few practical challenges, as it turned out during the dress rehearsal.
