Nick Kyrgios has eliminated fifth-seeded Andrey Rublev in the second round of the Miami master’s tournament. The Australian who started on a wild card in Florida settled in two sets with the Russian: 6-3 6-0.
Kyrgios, who earlier in the day was fined $25,000 for misconduct during the masters tournament in Indian Wells, finished with the Russian number 7 in the world in 52 minutes. Roeblev has already won two ATP tournaments this year and he reached the semifinals in Indian Wells.
Alexander Zverev defeated Croatian Borna Coric in the second round in three sets: 6-4 3-6 6-3. Zverev was knocked out early two weeks ago at the Indian Wells masters tournament. Then the current number 4 in the world lost in the second round to American Tommy Paul. The German was disqualified at the end of February at the ATP tournament in Acapulco, because he had misbehaved after a lost double match. This resulted in a suspended eight-week suspension and a hefty fine.
