Kylian Mbappé makes France blush again with a lovely goal, Orkun Kökcü is promoted | Orange

Partly due to a beautiful goal by Kylian Mbappé, France has once again blushed in this Nations League campaign. Les Blues, already without a chance for the Final Four, won 2-0 against Austria. Olivier Giroud also scored.

France avoided relegation from the A-league in Paris by winning 2-0 in the other group 1 match against Austria. The French team dominated the game, but only managed to score goals in the second half. The first came from star Kylian Mbappé, who completed a beautiful solo with a placed shot.

Shortly afterwards, striker Olivier Giroud headed in a cross from Antoine Griezmann. It was the 49th international goal for Giroud; he is two goals away from all-time French goalscorer Thierry Henry (51 goals).

Christian Eriksen

Croatia beat Denmark 2-1 in the same group. With the victory in Zagreb, the team of national coach Zlatko Dalic took over the lead from the Danes in group 1 of the A-league, the highest division. Croatia now has 10 points from five matches, Denmark is on 9 points.

All goals came in the second half. Defender Borna Sosa opened the score for the home team shortly after the break by working the ball from a corner kick by captain Luka Modric into the goal of Danish keeper Kasper Schmeichel. Christian Eriksen equalized (1-1) in the 77th minute with a beautiful long shot, but 2 minutes later Lovro Majer, who had just come in, made it 2-1.

Promotion for Kökcü and Turkey

The Turkish football team has won promotion to the B-division in the Nations League. With Feyenoord captain Orkun Kökcü in the starting line-up, a hard-fought draw (3-3) against Luxembourg was enough for Turkey to secure first place in the group. Luxembourg took the lead three times in the stadium of Basaksehir in Istanbul, but Turkey always equalized.

The 3-3 fell in the 87th minute and came in the name of Ismail Yüksek who came in for Kökcü. With Ferdi Kadioglu, Halil Dervisoglu and Enes Ünal, three more players were in the base at Turkey with a past in the Eredivisie. At Luxembourg left back Mica Pinto of Sparta Rotterdam had a base place.

Turkey had won the previous four group matches and promoted to the second level of the Nations League with thirteen points. Luxembourg is second with eight points.
