Against Juventus Turin, the struggling Manchester City suffered their next defeat. Defender Kyle Walker was insulted afterwards.

Kyle Walker, England international and Manchester City defender, has spoken out clearly after racist hostilities on social media. The insults reached him after his club’s 2-0 defeat against Juventus in the Champions League. Walker called on both authorities and social network operators to take decisive action against hatred and discrimination on the Internet.

“No one should ever be subjected to such vile, racist and threatening insults as I was after yesterday’s game,” said the 33-year-old on Thursday on platforms such as Instagram and X. At the same time, he appealed: “Instagram and the authorities must act, “To prevent this from happening again – for the benefit of everyone who suffers such insults. It is never acceptable.” To document the incidents, Walker shared screenshots of the hate messages in an Instagram story.

His club Manchester City, which is currently going through a difficult phase in sports and has lost seven of the last ten games, also commented. In a statement, the club strongly condemned the attacks: “We do not tolerate any form of discrimination, neither in stadiums nor online.” The English champions also assured their player of full support.
