Just during the last week of the major Ensor exhibition in the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp (KMSKA), the museum acquired a new Ensor. It is a donation, not from a wealthy benefactor, but from the local thrift store, which Ensor found among some donated goods. The work is worth 2,000 to 3,000 euros and was inaugurated on Tuesday morning by Flemish culture minister Caroline Gennez (Vooruit). “An unexpected discovery that led to a beautiful story.”
