Moscow (dpa-AfX)-The Kremlin evaluates the call of US President Donald Trump in Russia’s head of state Vladimir Putin In the middle of the week as a turning point in the Ukraine War. “This is a signal that we are now trying to clarify things in dialogue and talk about peace – and not about war,” Putin’s spokesman Dmitri Peskow said in an interview with the Kremlin -close correspondent of state television, Pawel Sarubin. Before that, the western heads of state had rejected talks with Russia and pursued the line to fight the war to the bitter end, he complained. Russia attacked its neighboring country in February 2022.
According to Peskow, however, the avoided meeting of the two presidents still requires a lot of preparation. The bilateral relationships between the two countries were destroyed by the previous government too heavy. He did not call a precise time for a meeting. Most recently, Saudi Arabia was mentioned as Trump’s meeting point for a summit about the end of the Russian war of aggression.

Putin had ordered his war of attack against Ukraine three years ago.
