Was that already with the title defense? At the comeback of international Florian Wirtz, Bayer Leverkusen does not get beyond a goalless draw in the Bundesliga in the home game against 1. FC Union Berlin. In the fight for a Champions League-Platz, FSV Mainz 05 received a 0-2 defeat at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim with match winner Andrej Kramaric. In the relegation battle there were two losers and a large, albeit happy winner named FC St. Pauli.

Bayer Leverkusen – 1. FC Union Berlin 0: 0

Highly superior, but unsuccessful: The master dominated the game against the Wacker defending Berliners, but only came to a few shots on goal. It was only through the substitution of Wirtz in the 57th minute after a five -week injury break came more creativity into the previously unimaginative attacks. But even with the exceptional player, the tightly staggered Union defense held the Leverkusen efforts for a goal.

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim – FSV Mainz 05 2: 0 (2: 0)

With the important victory in the struggle for remaining leak, the Hoffenheimers missed the Mainz Champions League ambitions. A double pack by striker Kramaric (4th and 32nd minute) brought the hosts early on the chance of success. Without the yellow-locked director Nadiem Amiri, who was a noble fan among the 10,000 FSV supporters who traveled in the stadium, as well as the struck striker Jonathan Burkardt, Mainz lacked offensive power. The Mainz Paul Nebel had to get off the square with yellow-red in added time.

Borussia Mönchengladbach – SC Freiburg 1: 2 (1: 1)

The contenders on a European acupplate fought a duel at eye level. An own goal of Christian Günter (14th) initially brought Mönchengladbach in front. But just two minutes later Patrick Osterhage (16th) equalized for the Freiburg. In the second half, the guests were the more dangerous team and came to the late winning goal by Johan Manzambi (90th).

VfL Bochum – FC Augsburg 1: 2 (0: 1)

The Bochumers went out again in the fight against relegation. With the goal of Philipp Hofmann (60th), the penultimate could hope for a long time. Samuel Dessende (16th) had scored 1-0 for Augsburg. From the 81st minute, the guests played out more after Arne Maier saw red due to coarse foul. And yet Mert Kömür (90th) still succeeded in 2-1 for Augsburg and thus sealed the fourth Bochum defeat in a row.

Holstein Kiel – FC St. Pauli 1: 2 (1: 1)

Kiel had taken the lead in the competitive basement duel between the two relegation candidates by Alexander Bernhardsson (21st). However, the lead was only a quarter of an hour before Danel Sinani (34th) equalized for Hamburg. In added time, St. Pauli came to the last minute goal by a Max Schuell own goal after the shot by Noah Weißhaupt (90.+2). Due to the draw, Kiel remains the bottom of the table with eleven points behind the saving 15th place, which St. Pauli occupied, and must slowly plan for the 2nd Bundesliga.
