Kovac wants to extend his dream record against VfL Bochum

Coach Niko Kovac from VfL Wolfsburg wants to further improve his impressive record during his visit to VfL Bochum in the Bundesliga.

“It’s not that bad. I hope we can expand it,” said the 52-year-old, who is still unbeaten in twelve games as a player and coach with the Ruhrpott club.

Kovac achieved seven wins and three draws during his active time, and now the third win is in the third game as coach. “I read it yesterday. I wouldn’t have thought that it was really flawless, especially since it’s always difficult in Bochum,” said Kovac, when asked about his record, and praised the good atmosphere on Castroper Straße: “Bochum always has it right “It was fun. The atmosphere is great and we have to face this difficult task.”

After the important home win against RB Leipzig last week, top striker Jonas Wind will also be able to help out again. The Dane, who has already scored nine goals this season, is “100 percent fit for action” despite a slight cold during the week.

However, the use of central defender Sebastiaan Bornauw (muscular problems), striker Amin Sarr (knee) and captain Maximilian Arnold (back), who has recently been on the bench more often, is very questionable, all of whom missed the final training session.
