Kosovo or Albania? Ministers Verlinden and Van Bossuyt are looking for prison in the Balkans

Our country wants to rent or build a prison in Kosovo or Albania to resolve the overcrowding in its own prisons. The two Balkan countries are the only one left as potential locations after an investigation into feasibility. Justice minister Annelies Verlinden (CD&V) and migration minister Anneleen van Bossuyt (N-VA) will go to the capitals Pristina and Tirana for “exploratory conversations” at the beginning of this week. Whether the search yields quickly is uncertain.
