The plans are part of a wider master plan that the city of Kortrijk develops together with Atelier Horizon – Veld. This also includes the future of the Augustinessen monastery, the buildings of the Social Services (OCMW) and the former hospital wings on the Reepkaai.
The 1990 wing, better known as ‘the ship’, will be preserved and will have a temporary interpretation in the coming years. “We take the time to look for the best definitive destination step by step. We call that slow urbanism,” said ships of urban renewal Wout Maddens.
