Korfballers PKC size too big for Koog Zaandijk

Koog Zaandijk did not manage to stunt against PKC tonight. In Papendrecht, the game in the championship pool of the Korfbal League ended in 30-23. Despite the defeat, KZ still has every chance to reach the play-offs.

In the opening phase, shared leader PKC immediately fired. The North Hollanders therefore immediately fell behind 4-1, but the team of coach Tim Bakker came back. Three goals in a row made it 4-4 after ten minutes. From 5-5, the team from Papendrecht again distanced themselves and now KZ was unable to join in.

No chance after rest

Halfway through, the difference was five points: 16-11. In the second half, KZ was no longer involved. The margin was reduced to four points, but then PKC took another step. That resulted in a final score of 30-23. Anouk Haars was the most accurate at KZ with six goals.

KZ has now lost all four matches in the championship group, but there is still a view to the play-offs. After seven matches, the Koogers are fourth, while the top four qualify for the dessert of the season. LDODK has the same number of points, but that club has played one more game. On Tuesday evening, KZ will play the make-up game at home with DOS’46 at the bottom.
