Doves’ fanaticism already characterized him as a player. In his role as coach, he tries to transfer that to his players. This is desperately needed, because Blauw-Wit is at the bottom of the competition, scoreless, a third of the way through.
Don’t panic
No reason for panic, although the people of Amsterdam expected more from the start of the Korfball League. It went wrong again against low-flying DSC, 19-26. The loss feels like a big blow. “I’d be lying if that wasn’t the case,” says Doves, who extended his contract until 2027 before the start of the competition.
Next week Blauw-Wit will meet opponent Dalto. The team from Driebergen is penultimate in the Korfball League and is therefore an ideal opponent on paper to win the first points. Then it’s winter break.
