Kool & the Gang star George Brown has died

George Brown, drummer of the legendary band Kool & the Gang, has died of cancer.

Musician George Brown has died at the age of 74, reports TMZ.

Brown had advanced lung cancer. He died in Los Angeles on Thursday.

George “Funky” Brown is remembered as the drummer and founding member of the American band Kool & the Gang.

Brown has been writing many of the band’s biggest hits such as Celebration, Ladies Night and Too Hot.

– When Brown was asked to describe his music, he always answered: “The sound of happiness,” the band’s representative tells TMZ.

Brown founded Kool & the Gang in 1964 in New Jersey by Robert Bell, by Ronald Bell, by Dennis Thomas, by Robert Mickens, Ricky West’s and of Charles Smith with.

The band’s first album Kool & the Gang appeared in 1969. Brown was 20 years old at the time.

The line-up of Kool & the Gang has changed a lot over the years. The only surviving original member is Robert “Kool” Bell, who still tours with the band.

Brown was also involved in the band’s activities until the end. The band’s latest studio album People Just Wanna Have Fun was released in July 2023. In addition to drums, Brown also plays keyboards on the album.

Brown will be missed by his wife Hahn Brown and five children.
