The US clothing group Kontoor Brands Inc. has given Mame Annan-Brown additional responsibility. On Monday, the parent company of denim brands Wrangler and Lee announced that Annan-Brown will also be responsible for ESG (environmental, social and governance) in addition to her duties as head of communications. From now on she will use the title EVP, Global Communications, Public Affairs & ESG.
In her new role as Global Head of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), Annan-Brown will lead, coordinate and implement the Group’s strategies in areas such as diversity, inclusion, sustainability and responsible corporate governance. To ensure consistency of action across the group, she will also chair Kontoor’s ESG Council, which brings together the company’s global leaders. She will also represent the apparel supplier in organizations committed to implementing ESG initiatives.
“ESG is central to our mission and our continued success as a responsible and sustainable company,” said Kontoor CEO Scott Baxter in a statement. “Mame not only has more than two decades of experience in global institutions such as the World Bank Group and JPMorgan Chase, which are leaders in the areas of ESG and sustainable investing. She also brings with her extensive experience in the development and implementation of holistic business strategies.”
