World number two Anett Kontaveit will serve at the WTA tournament for tennis professionals at Rothenbaum in Hamburg.

The organizers announced this on Saturday shortly before the registration deadline. According to the tournament organizers, the 26-year-old, coached by Torben Beltz, will receive a wild card and will start as the top seeded player.

The Estonian Kontaveit replaces the American Danielle Collins in the tournament (from Sunday), who cannot participate due to an injury.
