The Koninklijke Baan is located right next to the protected nature reserve De Duinbossen and there are no drains there. Moreover, the soil is so saturated that the water can no longer drain away. The Nature and Forests Agency has dug a ditch through the forest towards Platanenlaan, which has caused the water to recede somewhat.
In the long term, a definitive solution must be found by buffering the water at the corner of Driftweg and Kennedylaan.
