However, the record attempt was not the main goal for Darras. The trip was part of the preparation for a much bigger challenge: in January 2027 he wants to cross the Atlantic Ocean with a kite.
During the long journey he tested not only his equipment, but also his diet and mental toughness. Breaking the Belgian record was an extra boost. With his project Atlantic Crossing, Darras wants to draw attention to access to drinking water in developing countries.
