KNVB disciplinary committee agrees with prosecutor: Dani de Wit will miss tomorrow’s match

The disciplinary committee of the KNVB has suspended Dani de Wit for three games, one of which is conditionally. AZ did not agree with the prosecutor of the KNVB and therefore went to the disciplinary committee. The club is therefore wrong.

The footballer from Bovenkarspel received a red card after 14 minutes after a foul on FC Volendam striker Robert Mühren.

Last night, AZ pleaded with the disciplinary committee for a reduced sentence. The club found a suspension of those matches, one of which was conditionally too high. The KNVB prosecutor did not agree with this and unconditionally increased the penalty requirement to three games. The disciplinary committee did not agree and complied with the first demand.

In appeal

De Wit was guilty after the 2-1 victory over FC Volendam, although the midfielder did not consider the violation so serious that it had to result in more than one match suspension.

AZ and De Wit can appeal against the ruling. Whether they will do this is still unknown. De Wit, number ten in AZ, will miss Sunday’s away game against RKC Waalwijk.
