In the quarterfinals of the KNVB Cup, Ajax will play against Vitesse, a repeat of last season’s cup final. The team from Amsterdam won 2-1 at the time. AZ is visiting RKC in Waalwijk.
In the semi-finals, the winner of RKC – AZ has the home advantage. The Waalwijkers are in fourteenth place in the Eredivisie and defeated ADO Den Haag after extra time. AZ won 2-1 in the eighth finals of FC Twente with a late goal from Vangelis Pavlidis.
Ajax will meet last season’s finalist in the quarterfinals: Vitesse. The Arnhem team qualified for the quarterfinals with a 2-0 victory over the amateurs of DVS. The Amsterdammers achieved almost double digits against the amateurs of Excelsior Maassluis.
The quarter-finals in the KNVB Cup will be played on February 8.9 and 10.
