At the start of the second half of the Bundesliga, Bremen and Frankfurt are putting on a spectacle. In the end, the Hessians snatch victory from the home team.

Wild start to the second half of the Bundesliga: Werder Bremen and Eintracht Frankfurt shared the points on Friday evening after an open exchange of blows. In the end it was 3:3 (1:1) in the Weserstadion. Werder turned the game around with a double strike shortly before the end. But Frankfurt equalized at the last minute.

Eintracht newcomer Arnaud Kalimuendo shocked the home team with the opening goal after just 52 seconds (1st minute). Justin Njinmah equalized for Bremen before the break (29th). In the second half, DFB professional Nnamdi Collins made it 2-1 for the guests (56th). However, Werder hit back through Jens Stage (78th). Three minutes later, Jovan Milošević, who had just arrived on loan from Stuttgart, shook the stadium with his first Bundesliga goal (80th). Ansgar Knauff hit Bremen in the heart in stoppage time (90th + 4).

Both Bremen and Eintracht went into the game tense after their recent negative experiences. The coaches reacted very differently: While Steffen trusted his starting eleven from the 3-0 defeat in Dortmund, Toppmöller changed to four positions after the 3-2 defeat in Stuttgart. The game then needed no start-up time.

Before the early goal, Stage gave his opponent Ritsu Dōan too much space in the half-space, then Yukinari Sugawara didn’t get into the duel with Nathaniel Brown properly and Kalimuendo finally reacted faster than Amos Pieper. Kalimuendo was signed at the beginning of January, and Eintracht also secured a purchase option worth around 27 million euros.

Werder reacted angrily to the cold shower and initially tried to crack the guests over the wings. The first real chance resulted from a counterattack with a through pass from Stage to the quick Njinmah, who shot past the goal (20th). Nine minutes later, the 25-year-old did better. The equalizer was deserved at this point.
