This afternoon the first edition of the BeNe Cup in volleyball was on the program. In Den Bosch (Netherlands), the Belgian champion Knack Roeselare took on the champion from the Netherlands, Orion Stars.

Knack Roeselare was the favorite and immediately took on that role. In the first set they immediately led by a few points and never let the Dutch get into the set, 18-25 for Roeselare.

Set two provided more tension. The opponent from Doetinchem put pressure on Roeselare and the West Flemish people were forced to chase. Ultimately, Orian Stars managed to level the signs. 25-22 and 1-1 in sets.

Roeselare had a 10-minute break to bounce back and they did just that. The West Flemish team returned to a better level and advanced to a 13-25 set win.

Knack also continued his momentum in the fourth set. Orion Stars tried to do everything they could, but ultimately had to give up. 3-1 for Knack Roeselare and the first BeNe Cup can go in the trophy cabinet of the West Flemish club.

The BeNe Cup is a precursor to the new competition this year, the BeNe Conference. There, the first four teams from each country will compete against each other in a play-off competition.
