The U18 international Melkamu Frauendorf has made his professional debut for Liverpool FC. Three days before his 18th birthday, the former Hoffenheimer was substituted on by coach Jürgen Klopp on Sunday in the 4-1 (2-1) in the English FA Cup against third division club Shrewsbury Town shortly before the end.

“Strong! (…) Congratulations on your first professional outing, Melkamu,” the Hoffenheim youth academy congratulated the 17-year-old on Facebook. Attacker Frauendorf was trained in the Hoffenheim youth team after his move from SV Schefflenz and moved to Liverpool in 2020.
