Recommendations of the Editorial team

Kitschkrieg are celebrating their comeback in Germany. Known since 2016 through their collaborations and their DIY album with the rapper Trettmann, they reached a large audience in Germany with the song “Standard”.

The producer duo made songs with Nena, Bonez, Nina Chuba, Herbert Grönemeyer and many other well-known German musicians. Then Fizzle and Fiji Kris moved to the USA in 2023 to make Kitschkrieg big overseas. They produced for Future and Mariah the Scientist, released new albums at a record pace and established themselves internationally.

Electronic sound with depth

They are known for their electronic sound with synth elements and minor harmonics. The contrasts between sad chords and listenable drums make their beats unique. Now they are back in Germany and are starting an album according to their motto: KITSCHKRIEG go raven.

With influences from Kraftwerk to future-retro breaks from the UK, the new album “KITSCHKRIEG ZWEI” is all about the ambivalence of interpersonal relationships. Twelve songs plus an intro and some new and surprising artist combinations await listeners.

The first singles

The first three tracks are already out. “Nothing more” started with Ennio, followed by “Sommereregen” with Domiziana and Milleniumkid. Most recently “For the Ravers” was released with Nizi 19 and Yuyu 19.

Artists from different genres and different bubbles come together on the album. This is reminiscent of the producer album “100Angst” by Bazzazian, on which German artists with different fan communities also made joint features. The belief in creating a shared partnership holds the tracks together. The songs literally flow into each other and create a coherent album. The finale is the joint song by Shirin David and Blumengarten.

New single with province

The next track from the album will be released on Thursday, April 16th – a collaboration with the indie band Provinz. The collaboration was teased on Friday, April 10th with the caption: “Love happens, haven’t you learned anything? We have to be careful…”

In “Shotgun,” the band takes listeners on a ride through the night. “Shotgun you are sitting next to me” – this is how they sing about the ambivalence between love and loneliness on electronic rhythm.

Visual album announced

A visual album is to be released to accompany the LP: a performance film as a stylized rave for the camera.
