Kirjolla, starred by Topi Borg, became the overwhelming number one

Finns will prefer domestic content in 2023, reports Yle.

It became Yle Areena’s most watched series last year with a motley, whose episodes averaged 308,000 viewers. The warm-hearted reality show and its main characters became a phenomenon, as the series also beat domestic dramas in the viewership numbers, which are typically at the top of the viewership numbers, Yle says.

Other Areena favorites were, for example, the one set in Finnish Lapland North star -crime drama, drama comedy HormonesSwedish Happened by the water – crime drama and comedy series Searchers. The viewing figures for these series ranked between 203,000 and 289,000.

On the spectrum-series followed the lives of four young adults diagnosed with autism. One of the main characters was Top Borg.

– Filming the program was the happiest time of my life. I met many people, went to new places, was able to open up. I even got to visit Lapland, Topi recalled the filming in an interview with Iltalehti in April.

Topi appeared in the program together with his family. Top’s older sister is entrepreneur and media personality Sointu Borg.

The series started with Sointu’s initiative, when he contacted the production company with his idea. The production company had already planned a program related to autism before, and the siblings jumping in was a turning point in terms of the program’s realization.

Several emotional moments were seen in the Kirjolla program. In one of them, Sointu cries because Topi has been treated unfairly due to autism during her life. Topi was bullied especially in elementary school.

– For me, being bullied at school was not a big deal. Unfortunately it was a big deal for my sister, it has broken my heart as well. However, he had a good reason to cry, Topi said.
