Kipkemboi fastest at the Dam tot Damloop, just ahead of Charles Langat

Margaret Kipkemboi has won the 36th edition of the Dam tot Damloop. The Kenyan athlete completed the 10 English miles in 50 minutes and 38 seconds. Kenyan Charles Langat was the fastest in the men (45 minutes and 9 seconds).

The event has been canceled for the past two years due to the corona crisis. Kipkemboi made his debut in Zaandam at the Dam tot Damloop. She ran almost the entire race with Sharon Kemboi and Caroline Nyaga. At the Peperstraat she shook off her competitors and crossed the line fastest.

Langat long had competition from Peter Kipsirat and Geofry Kipchumba. He eventually took the lead in the last 100 meters. On the Peperstraat he crossed the finish line not much later than the female winner.

Both winners of the last edition in 2019, Solomon Berihu and Evaline Chichir, could not play a significant role.
