The Dutch denim pioneer Kings Of Indigo and Berlin artist Martin Bünger launched a joint limited edition collab shirt on May 25, 2026 that combines heritage, attention to detail and a sustainable value system.
About the artist
In his painting, Martin Bünger moves between intuition and conscious positioning, between free gestures and compositional clarity. In the DOLCE VITA series, he condenses real and imaginary places of longing into concise pictorial spaces: with a few symbolic elements, fragmentary words and the recurring lobster as a tongue-in-cheek motif, he creates works that evoke places rather than depict them – and in the process connect personal memories with collective ideas.
“Kings Of Indigo and my work are linked by an attitude to life – lightness, conscious moments and beauty in the details.”
The MANSA collab shirt – a style from the current Kings Of Indigo Spring/Summer 2026 collection – is made of 100 percent organic cotton, is GOTS certified and thus represents Kings Of Indigo’s brand philosophy, which is based on sustainable values and constant innovation.
Artist Martin Bünger continues: “The collaboration with Kings Of Indigo takes me to Amsterdam – the origin of the brand. The work combines visual fragments of the city with denim culture and a playful examination of sustainability – subtle, with a wink. The focus is not on the motif, but on the attitude to life: an area of tension between lightness and substance, between intuition and consciousness. This is how the T-shirt becomes more than an object – it becomes a carrier of mood, memory and attitude.”
The Kings Of Indigo x Martin Bünger collab shirt is available on the Kings Of Indigo website.
