The streets of Beverwijk are orange colored and filled with things that can go to a new owner. It is the annual party of King’s Day. A treasure room of things and stories, where Francis hopes to bump into something special.
And he certainly thinks special items. A young saleswoman has an old -fashioned clock on the dresses in the Breestraat. There is a local story attached to it, because he comes from Uncle Toon, the neighbor of the family. And he had more clocks. So much that some went to the neighbors.
For 1500 euros on the internet
Further on the street is also a real thrift store; 500 square meters full of items that come from furniture. The owner has a surprise in store. He gets a paper from a stack of artworks. It is a litho from a famous artist. “I don’t know if he himself put his name under it, but the litho is original,” he says. “They are for sale on the internet for 1500 euros.”
Who the artist is, why Uncle Toon had so many clocks and with which treasure Francis eventually goes home, you can see that in this second episode of ‘cycles with Francis’.
