No heavier punishment on appeal for two men after rape in Overpoort: “They filmed everything and even thought it was funny, but they are still young”
Two young men who raped a drunk woman in the Overpoortstraat in Ghent have not received a heavier sentence on appeal. However, the Public Prosecution Service found that the two, who originally received 20 and 16 months in prison, were punished too lightly. An appeal was filed, but the appeals court upheld the initial verdict.
