In August, F1 legend Kimi Räikkönen took part in the Nascar series race with Trackhouse Racing at the Watkins Glen motor track.

Räikkönen’s race eventually ended in suspension, but the Finnish driver had time to make a big impression on Trackhouse’s team manager to Justin Marks as well as the other staff of the stable.

According to Marks, Räikkönen is welcome to return to the wheel of the team’s car in the 2023 season.

– I live under the assumption that the driving seat is Kim’s, unless she tells me otherwise. “We’re going to talk about it after the season,” Marks said Motorsport.com in the interview.

Räikkönen himself stated in August about his possible return to his typical way.

– Let’s see.

However, the Finn published a photo on his Instagram account in August, in the caption of which he expressed his hope to still drive in Nascar.

At the beginning of October, on the other hand, the Brazilian uoL.com website said that Räikkönen is negotiating with Chip Ganassi Racing, which drives in the IndyCar series.

Marks created the Project91 program for this season as part of Räikkönen’s return to motorsport.

Its purpose is to give meritorious drivers in different motorsports the opportunity to compete in Nascar.

Having Räikkönen along will help in expanding the program.

– I really enjoyed my time with Kim and his family. I think he did an amazing job. I think if it wasn’t for the crash, the way the strategy seemed to work and the way he learned throughout the race would have put us in the top 15. It would have been a very nice day, Marks praised.

– I would love to do more competitions. I would love for the program to run three, four, five races.
