Killer of Francis (16) sees prison sentence halved on appeal, but remains arrested: “I will make his life miserable, I promise”

Youri H. (35) appeared before the appeal chamber of the police court in Dendermonde on Wednesday morning to hear his sentence after he killed 16-year-old Francis Aerts while under the influence in Temse. He subsequently had two other accidents and committed hit and run each time. At first instance, the man was given another nine years, today his sentence was halved on appeal and he received a total prison sentence of 4.5 years. “It is scandalous that such a person can be released so quickly,” Francis’ father responds with disappointment.
