Kiev puts Russian losses at more than 50,000 troops | Abroad

The British Ministry of Defense, on the other hand, speaks of about 25,000 dead Russian soldiers. Russia itself has not provided an update on the figures for a long time. The separatists in the self-declared independent region of Donetsk claim to have lost about 2,900 fighters, but Kiev speaks of 9,000 dead and 7,000 missing soldiers in the eastern area.

The United Nations has also registered up to more than 5,700 civilian casualties, but – like Kiev – assumes a much higher number of civilian casualties. The Donetsk separatists recently said that about 870 civilians were killed in their area.
