Kiev announced an agreement on a ceasefire in Donbass – RBK

The Trilateral Contact Group agreed to return to full compliance with the ceasefire in Donbas. About it stated Head of the Ukrainian President’s Office Andriy Yermak on Facebook.

“Our months-long efforts to return to full compliance with the ceasefire have paid off. During today’s meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group, all parties expressed their intention to strictly comply with the agreements on measures to strengthen the ceasefire from July 22, 2020, “Yermak wrote.

According to him, this was a step towards de-escalation of the conflict in the east. “We hope that this time the ceasefire will be sustainable and help save the lives of Ukraine’s defenders and civilians,” added the head of the Ukrainian leader’s office.

The armed conflict in eastern Ukraine began in 2014. The following year, 2015, Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France, through the mediation of the OSCE, signed the Minsk agreements. The text of the agreement provided, in particular, for the organization of a ceasefire and the formation of local government bodies in the Luhansk and Donetsk republics.
