Kickboxer Badr Hari combative despite a bad series: “I don’t think about stopping”

Kickboxer Badr Hari (37) is having a bad series of matches. He hasn’t won a match since his Glory debut in 2016. Yet the Amsterdammer is not thinking about stopping at all. “I’ll keep going until the wheels fall off,” Hari is clear.

“I still enjoy it a lot. Every fight is a new chapter and I don’t even think about stopping,” the kickboxer continues.

“I actually wanted to fight Rico Verhoeven, but he is busy with a movie or something”

Badr Hari vs. Alistair Overeem

On October 8, Badr Hari will face Alistair Overeem. He does this during Collision 4, which is organized by Glory in the Gelredome. Overeem makes his debut for Glory. In recent years, he fought in the UFC.

The 42-year-old martial artist admits that it is not his dream match against Hari. “I actually wanted to fight against Rico Verhoeven, but he is busy with a movie or something. It is not a fight that I would push through, but I am competitive and I am not going to say no,” said Overeem about the upcoming clash with Hari.

Riots in Belgium

Badr Hari’s last match was not finished. During the fight against the Pole Arek Wrzosek, riots broke out and the match was halted. Hari briefly recalled those events. “What happened in Belgium is catastrophic. I’ve never seen that before. Glory made the only right choice.”
