That Richard K. killed the two buyers of his parental home on January 16, 2024, there is no doubt about that anymore. But how exactly did he come to his deed? Did he plan the murders or did he act on a whim? These are questions to which today and tomorrow may be an answer. Today the substantive treatment starts in the case of the double murder of Weiteveen.

With shooting and stab weapons, Richard K. kills 44-year-old Ineke and the 38-year-old Sam early in De Morgen. It is the climax of a high rising conflict about the sale of a home of K. to its victims.

There would be all kinds of hidden defects. The fight that arises about this is increasing and finally ends with the double murder. Richard K. is arrested shortly after the murders at the house of Sam and Ineke. Shortly before, he made a live stream on Facebook near the house, in which he said, among other things, that he would “go into the tank.”

Since April last year, control sessions have been held in the run -up to the substantive treatment of the lawsuit. During such a hearing, the planning is discussed and the need for research or its progress is discussed. Justus Reisinger, the lawyer of K, points to earlier brain bleeding and an infarction in K, which led to brain damage.

As a result, K. would have trouble keeping impulses under control and being quickly over -stimulated. That might have played a role in the actions of the suspect, whereby the counsel wants to question the allocation of K..

The public prosecutor absolutely does not agree with that. According to him, there was no impulsive but conscious acting. K. had weapons in his pocket, he was waiting Ineke on the Bargerweg and pulled cabling of the security cameras.

He also sent his wife an email with financial information in advance with the subject ‘for if something happens to me’. In the eyes of the officer it all seems planned. K. must in any case report to the Pieter Baan Center for a psychiatric examination.

K. makes another statement during a directing session. He speaks of a ‘terrible tragedy’ and a ‘day on which the children lost their parents in a terrible way.’ He apologizes crying. The emotional argument of K. makes little impression on the relatives. They don’t believe him. They think he only expresses regret because he may go to prison for a long time. “

In the subsequent sessions, more details come to the light of what happened on the 16th. It is known that Sam was in his bed when he was shot. K. called after he shot Ineke into her car a moment on the Bargerweg.

The 12-year-old son of Sam and Ineke opens the door, after which K. Sam looks up in the house and kills. The son tries to defend his father with a knife and knows how to injure K. on his hand.

Possibly there would be a bad weather by K., who responded to an attack by Sam, the lawyer says. A suggestion that the public prosecutor takes off as “somewhat shocking.” The indictment is further expanded with illegal possession of weapons of a semi -automatic gun, a revolver and a bullet rifle.

In December the court discusses the findings of the Pieter Baan Center. The research is not yet fully completed at that time and the clinic can only issue a summary.

Two disorders were found at K.. But the center cannot indicate whether this has played a role in the double murder. Nor can nothing be said about the imputability of K.

During today’s session, all video images of mobile phones and surveillance cameras are shown. They must help to give a clearer picture of how K. worked. And especially help to answer the question: K. acted purposefully or in a haze?
