Kevin Koni from Hatayspor: I got up for morning prayer and survived the earthquake!

A statement about the horrifying moments of the earthquake that affected 10 of our cities came from Hatayspor’s Cameroonian Muslim football player Kevin Soni.

Speaking to the French media and detailing his fearful moments, the 24-year-old striker said that he was caught awake during the earthquake because he was waiting for the morning prayer.

I WANTED TO JUMP FROM THE 7TH FLOOR

The young football player said, “I am a religious person. I would have waited until 06.40 in the morning. If I had been asleep at the time of the earthquake, I had no chance to survive.” Also, Soni said, “I wanted to jump from the 7th floor. Fortunately, I managed to get out before the building collapsed. I saw people die next to me. I suffered great trauma.”

LIFE IS DUE TO COTTON YARN

Kevin Soni said, “Obviously, I understand that life hangs by a thread. At moments like these, you better understand that everything is empty. Everyone is looking for shelter, leaving their homes and cars. What we went through was like a movie! This has been the most surprising thing for me since I started football and in my life. “I haven’t decided yet whether I will stay here or not,” he said.
