Lauwereins is a sommelier at gastronomic restaurant Vlass in Middelkerke. He is not an unknown name: he previously brought the first Belgian portwijn ‘Fist’ to the market, in collaboration with Wijndomein Ravenstein in Wervik. He was also named ‘Sommelier of the Year’ in West Flanders three times.
