Kendrick Lamar wants to make his fans “feel good”.

Journalist Jazlyn Guerra spoke to the rapper about the video during an interview at the Rolling Loud Festival. Lamar told her, “At the end of the day, beyond all politics, beyond all numbers, what matters most is what music makes you feel, you know? I was like, ‘man, I wonder what he’s going through’. At the end of the day, that’s exactly what you want – for everyone to receive your music, you know? Make them feel good, make them feel like a moment they’re attached to can live forever.”

Security employee Devyn Sanford was also asked about the TikTok clip in an interview for the television station “Fox”. He explained: “I woke up the next day and it was everywhere. I’m still in the process of processing all of this. […] I debated whether to buy tickets or work on the show and decided to work on the show.”

“I just broke down”

“It took me back to when the song first came out. I was going through a tumultuous time in my life at the time… The words, the crowd around me, everyone was screaming and reaching for Kendrick and crying, and I sort of absorbed everyone’s emotions. I tried my best to pull myself together and just broke down,” he continued.
