Keijo Hietikko is one of the eight Tango Market finalists.
A native of Jalasjärvi Keijo Hietikko, 29, took his final seat in the Tango Market. The final will take place in Seinäjoki in July.
Hietikko had been selected as the semifinal It’s time to go. Hietikko comments to Iltalehti after the semi-finals.
– The biggest excitement has now been released and this final place is being felt here. Tomorrow we will see if we can get back to reality, Hietikko is happy with his final place.
Hietikko is participating in the Tango Market for the fourth time this year. For the last two years, the competition could not be organized due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The new finalist reveals that the big performance stages are quite familiar to him. She has also been involved in other singing competitions, so performing for the audience is natural and enjoyable. In Civil, Hietikko works as a car mechanic and butcher. The latter profession made the audience in the semifinals laugh.

Hietikko plans to prepare for the upcoming finale by singing the songs to be ordered for the finals. The final qualifier will take place in Seinäjoki on Thursday, July 7.
– I think I’m tuning in the PA equipment at home and trying to practice with the guitar and piano. If the skill is not enough, then the players will be involved to be able to train, he says.
Hietikko talks about his versatile musical skills. In addition to tango music, he also succeeds in rapting. The finalist is pondering the possibility of hearing rap music in Seinäjoki during the final week. Hietikko can’t name a wish piece for the finals.

– I don’t have a real wish piece. Let’s sing what is prescribed, Hietikko says.
The finalist says he has taxed his forces for so long that the celebration of the final spot will be missed tonight. Hietiko’s two children and wife had come to encourage the father to win.
– Let’s take the children and his wife in the car and head home to sleep and gather strength, Hietikko says with a smile.
