Keeper Nordin Bakker returns to the Netherlands and signs with Almere City

Nordin Bakker is returning to work in the first division after six months abroad. The 24-year-old goalkeeper from Oostknollendam was transfer-free after his contract in Bulgaria was dissolved. Until the end of the season Bakker will represent the club colors of Almere City FC.

The goalie has been clubless since this month after his contract with PFC Beroe Stara Zagora was dissolved due to financial problems. In total, he played eight games for the Bulgarian club.

“I immediately had a good feeling when Almere City FC came forward,” says Bakker on the Almere City website. “For me personally, it was a good time to leave Bulgaria here. Almere City FC has shown in recent years that it has ambition and a plan. Things are not going well at the moment, but this selection has enough quality to be in the to participate in the second half of the season for a place in the play-offs.”

The goalkeeper ended up at FC Volendam in 2018, which took over from the amateurs of Fortuna Wormerveer. Bee The New Orange Bakker was under contract for three seasons and played more than fifty games.

This Sunday Telstar will visit Almere City FC. The match starts at 2.30 pm and can be followed live via our social channels.
