Keanu Reeves’ band Dogstar announce new music and concerts

Reeves was bassist for Dogstar from the mid-90s to the 2000s – last year the grunge band celebrated their comeback. Now there should be new tracks and a tour.

While Keanu Reeves made a name for himself worldwide as an actor with “Matrix” in 1999, he also got involved as a musician as co-founder and bassist of the grunge group Dogstar. The career as a mime continued – but not the musical one. In 2002, his band split up after just two albums and one EP. But in 2022 the trio announced their return. And now even new songs and a tour.

Specifically, the group around Keanu Reeves, Bret Domrose and Robert Mailhouse let themselves be heard via Instagram. In the post on their account, they showed up at a photo shoot in Washington, DC and wrote, “Exciting news coming soon. Thank you for your patience.”

The news received a lot of positive feedback from the community, prompting the squad, which formed in Los Angeles, to post again in the comments column with the following news: “Thank you everyone for the kind comments. We are overjoyed to see such reactions. To be honest, we didn’t expect that. That makes you want to play even more.”

Dogstar goes on to explain that they are planning on concerts and new tracks in the warmer months: “We will be releasing new music this summer, followed by some gigs. As soon as all of this is certain, we will let you know immediately. There is so much to do but rest assured we are there and have put together an amazing team to help us. We’re also going to shoot a music video for our first song… It’s the most satisfying and meaningful compilation of songs we’ve ever done.”

Before their split, Dogstar released the EP QUATTRO FORMAGGI (1996) and two albums OUR LITTLE VISIONARY in 1996 and four years later HAPPY ENDING.

Keanu Reeves is otherwise pretty busy. With him, “John Wick: Chapter 4” was released in cinemas on March 23, 2023 and now several film productions are lined up – including starring in Jonah Hill’s dark comedy “Outcome”. However, Hill’s directorial work has not yet been released in cinemas.
