Football Bundesliga

According to information from NDR, HSV has found a successor for Stefan Kuntz. The current Bayern official Kathleen Krüger is to become the sports director of the Bundesliga club.
Krüger is due to take over the position at Hamburger SV, which has been vacant for four months, in the summer. At its meeting on Tuesday evening, the majority of the supervisory board decided in favor of the current Bayern official. The 40-year-old former footballer will soon sign a contract in Hamburg, other media also reported.
She should therefore lead the board of the North German club together with Eric Huwer. However, a woman in a board position at the traditional club would not be a novelty: Katja Kraus was part of the management team at the “Rothosen” from 2003 to 2011 and was the first woman on the board of a Bundesliga football club at the time. At RB Leipzig, the Swiss Tatjana Haenni has been CEO since the beginning of the year.
Krüger is currently working at FC Bayern as Head of Organization and Infrastructure. She will probably also manage these areas, just like corporate communications, at HSV. The transfer business will probably remain in the hands of sports director Claus Costa.
Bierhoff and Kehl were also considered candidates
Since parting ways with Kuntz in January, the position of sports director at HSV has not been filled. Huwer and Costa took over duties from Kuntz. Among other things, prominent names such as former DFB director Oliver Bierhoff and Borussia Dortmund sports director Sebastian Kehl had previously been traded.
Kuntz ended his job at HSV at the beginning of the year. The separation caused loud background noise afterwards. The club with coach Merlin Polzin is currently fighting to stay in the Bundesliga after being promoted last year.
