Kath Smith has joined UK retail chain JD Sports as Senior Independent Director and Chair of the Nominations Committee.
Smith has been with JD Sports since 2019, previously serving as interim chair of the Compensation Committee. She brings “extensive experience working with world-leading brands,” the retailer said on Monday. Her professional career includes positions as Vice President of The North Face in Europe, Middle East and Africa. She has 20 years of experience in the sporting goods industry, where she was Managing Director of brands Adidas and Reebok.
Smith’s position on the Compensation Committee will now be held by Bert Hoyt pending the appointment of a permanent chair. JD Sports’ Board of Directors confirms that “good progress is being made” in this regard.
