Kat Maconie is the eponymous label of British shoe designer Kat Maconie. The London brand stands for eye-catching statement shoes in iridescent colors with architectural heels and maximalist details. Inspired by the artistic, eclectic spirit of the city, the designer creates high heels, sandals, sneakers, boots and slippers for women.
origins
Kat Maconie studied at the London College of Fashion and founded her eponymous brand in 2009. She sees her shoe designs as a form of art, with which she has twice won the Drapers Shoe Designer of the Year Award. Maconie has worked with fashion designers such as Ashley Williams and Teatum Jones, and her extravagant designs have garnered fans around the world, including stars like Taylor Swift and Rita Ora. Ten years after launching the brand, the designer opened her first store in London.

In recent years, Kat Maconie has taken a more sustainable path to progressively improve the environmental impact of her footwear production. All of the label’s shoes and accessories are made in factories in China, which, according to the company’s website, ensure a fair, caring and safe environment for workers. When choosing materials, increasing attention is paid to durability and sustainability. “We ensure that the manufacturing process generates as little waste as possible by reusing materials and cuttings where possible,” says the brand.
In addition, Kat Maconie has committed itself to avoiding fur, angora, exotic skins and feathers in its collections in order to protect animals and nature. In the autumn/winter 2020 season, the brand also introduced the Le Clique line, which does not contain any animal leather.

Kat Maconie shoes and accessories are now available from over 320 retailers worldwide. In addition to the two own stores in London and San Juan, Puerto Rico, the collections are also sold internationally in boutiques and large department stores such as Harvey Nichols in London, KaDeWe in Berlin and IT Hong Kong. In the SS22 season, the label launched a jewelery collection for the first time alongside women’s shoes.
