In their second match of the World Cup, the Young Lions won the Czech Republic’s winning goal competition with goals 4–3.

Roby Järventie, who completed the opening goal, and Kasper Simontaival with a spectacular deflection were successful with penalty shots.

The deflection of the pier flew in through the post.

– I decided just before I went there, what I would do. I enjoyed that moment. Of course there is pressure, but there is a quiet moment and you get to show what you can do, KalPa’s attacker thought on TV5.

Simontaival scored seven hits in the league last season.

Quiet start

Finland had a bad start. The Czech Republic took a 2–0 lead.

– In the beginning, we were careless. The guy ruled. But in the second period, we probably had 80 percent of the puck. Improved the game a lot.

Even though the Czech Republic was level at the end and the team in the extra round was beaten without a hit, Finland was the weakest in the tough teams.

– At the end, there was a bounce there, a bounce here. Important points were obtained. This was a big success, said Simontaival, who handles the tasks of the team’s kitchen counter.

Finland’s scorers were Järventie, Kasper Puutio and Aatu Räty. Leevi Meriläinen has rejected two wins.

The next game of the Young Lions is on Sunday at 21:00 Finnish time. The opposite is Slovakia.
