Karol G brings J Balvin, Ryan Castro and Peso Pluma to the Coachella stage and announces tour
During Karol’s furious closing number “Provenza,” a message lit up in orange on the huge screens behind her: “Nos Vamos de Tour” – in German: “We’re going on tour.” The Colombian artist asked everyone to watch the screens as she screamed the same message into the microphone.
In her interview on Call Her Daddy, Karol had already hinted that a tour was in the works – but it was put on hold due to preparations for Coachella. “We were already talking about starting the tour, but then I thought: Let’s stop everything and just focus on this,” she told Alex Cooper. Since Karol released “Tropicoqueta” in June 2025, fans have been eagerly awaiting a tour announcement – especially after the record-breaking “Mañana Será Bonito” tour from 2023 to 2024.
Medellin visits Indio
In addition to this major announcement, Karol G also brought a piece of her hometown Medellín to Indio: with two very special guests – J Balvin and Ryan Castro. The pair’s performances were intended to honor the beginnings of Colombian reggaeton and the future of the genre in the country. It was also a full-circle moment for Balvin: he had already accompanied Karol on stage at her very first Coachella performance in 2022.
Balvin opened his set with his hits “Ay Vamos,” “Ginza” and “La Canción” before Castro joined in and the two ran through collaborations as well as Castro’s own songs. The timing was hardly a coincidence: Balvin and Castro are about to release their joint album “Omerta” – the time has come on May 8th.
“For me it was about: Who are the people whose performance will be a very special moment for my fans?” Karol told Alex Cooper. “I wanted to bring someone who really left something behind – a legacy, a pioneer of what we do and why we are here,” she added.
Peso Pluma and Becky G there
Earlier in the night, Mexican pride was palpable as Peso Pluma joined the Colombian singer on stage to perform their collaborative 2023 hit “Qlona” and Becky G returned to sing “Mamii” with Karol again. In the first week, the Colombian artist invited reggaetón pioneer Wisin, Puerto Rican singer Mariah Angeliq, Becky G and Cigarettes After Sex singer and guitarist Greg Gonzales as guests, with whom she performed the new song “Después de Ti”.
“I’ve really been preparing to create a show that means so much to people and honors my Latina community,” Karol told Rolling Stone shortly after she was announced as a Coachella headliner. “I wanted to be the representation for the community on this stage and with my show,” she added. With her final performance, which was characterized by the Hora Loca, she achieved exactly that.
